Story District and Sixth and I present our 9th annual night of funny, poignant, powerful, and peculiar autobiographical stories about all things Jewish, not-so-Jewish, and wanna-be Jewish. Pitch a true story about mikvehs, youth groups, orthodoxy, unorthodoxy, and anything else that relates to the Jewish experience. Please note that we are very picky about the theme. This is not stories by Jewish people. These are stories that truly shed light on something genuinely Jewish.
The show will take place on December 19 at 7:30 pm, at Sixth & I. Pitch your story to be in the show. If you are selected to be part of the show, you will be expected to participate in 4-6 rehearsals with Story District's story coaches and to perform your 8-10 minute story. Honoraria of $100 for each storyteller.
What we are looking for in a story:
We are looking for actual stories -- with a plot, characters, and a narrative arc that has a beginning, middle, and end. All stories must be true and grounded in an event that unfolds and has a the quality of making the listener ask "What happens next". Watch sample below. Watch samples
