The News Reporter welcomes letters from local residents about local issues we’ve covered in our news stories. Letters should share opinions or perspectives on those stories — not introduce new statements of fact that were not included in our reporting. Because those statements have not been vetted by our news staff, we cannot verify their accuracy and therefore cannot publish them.

We do not publish letters focused primarily on national or state issues or any political endorsements. Letters should be fewer than 400 words and are subject to editing for accuracy, style, clarity and grammar. By submitting a letter, you agree it becomes the property of The News Reporter.

Each submission must include the author’s name, phone number and address (contact information will not be published). We generally do not publish more than one letter by the same author within a 30-day period.
