CCSU student workers (including work-study eligible students) are hired by various CCSU university departments to perform administrative tasks required by university staff including but not limited to:
Greeting visitors, answering telephones, taking messages and scheduling appointments.
Refer students, alumni or visitors to appropriate campus resources.
Assist in office management with photocopying or scanning documents, filing, mailings, data entry and assisting with special projects and events.
Complete research for lecture preparation.
Proofread academic papers written by university staff.
Liaise with students and staff on behalf of the supervising staff member.
Source references for academic work.
The ideal candidate is a current CCSU student who is a dependable, mature worker with excellent communication skills, possessing an attention to detail, and having the ability to follow directions, while working independently. Able to manage stress and remain professional under pressure. The student must be comfortable and confident using standard PC software, e-mail, the Internet and be able to conduct Internet research. Student workers should have a basic knowledge of campus buildings and offices, maintain a professional manner (i.e., come to work in appropriate attire) and be in good academic standing.
