The purpose of this community is to empower and strengthen Black woman participants by building healthy relationships, engaging in community service, building career experiences, and accepting every woman for who they are. Sista 2 Sista participants will actively engage in activities to aide in their successful transition to the Texas A & M University-Commerce environment, academic excellence, and become productive citizens within their community.

If selected to be a participant in the Sista 2 Sista Community, I understand that my responsibilities are as follows:

• Reside in the F-Hall community for the duration of the 2018-19 academic year. I will be assigned a roommate who has also been accepted to this community. This means, I cannot have a roommate who is not part of this community.
• Participate in a retreat prior to first-year student move in. This will require me to move into the residence halls on August 18, 2019. Details on the retreat and early move in will be provided before move-in.
• I will attend house meetings and possibly lead those meetings.
• I must maintain a 2.75 GPA and I must provide grade verifications to RLL staff.
• I will receive a stipend for my active participation that will be provided at the beginning and end of the semester.
• Participant in the out-of-class commitments for service, programming, and community engagement. I will have to participate in 75% of the activities in the community.
• I understand that I must sign a formal commitment agreement to be a full participant of the program.
• I must adhere to all University Code of Student Conduct and Residential Living and Learning guide to campus living requirements. Violations to either of these set of rules is grounds for removal from the community.
