The Mississippi Youth Media Project trains teenagers in various aspects of media production, including writing, video, photography, web design and podcasting, in a dynamic open office on the 13th floor of Capital Towers in downtown Jackson, Miss. Professionals teach media skills, and the teenagers, age 14 to 18, produce work to publish on the student site, jxnpulse.com.
Teenagers also learn to critique media coverage of young people, as well as learn professional and soft skills necessary for successful careers.
