The National Capital Region Incident Management Team (NCR-IMT) is an “all hazards” team that responds to natural and man-made disasters, public health emergencies, terrorist attacks, hostage situations, etc. The team is a multi-disciplinary group comprised of Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Public Health, and Emergency Management personnel from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Government’s (MWCOG) region.
Working and living conditions on deployments and training can be minimal at best. You may be working in tent structures with unimproved surfaces and no air conditioning in summer months. Air quality may be poor. Meals may be in the form of MREs. Lodging may be in the form of a personal tent with sleeping bag. Personal hygiene facilities may be minimal.
The team may deployed anywhere in the United States for 14 to 21 days. Working hours can be extensive with day and night operations. Rest may not be optimal and can be affected by environmental factors and general living conditions.
Minimum of Firefighter 3 rank required.
