Thank you for your interest in serving on the Midtown Assistance Center (MAC) Young Professional Council. The mission of MAC is to prevent homelessness and hunger for low-income, working Atlantans by providing assistance with rent and utility, groceries, transportation, clothing, and identification. This work would not be possible without the support of our community volunteers.
Applicants should be:
- Between the ages of 25-40.
- Passionate about the issues of low-income residents in the Atlanta area, specifically relating to homelessness and hunger.
- Interested in learning about the issues of poverty in the Atlanta community and willing to share your knowledge and passion with others.
Members are expected to:
• Attend bi-monthly virtual starting in October.
• Give financially how ever they are able (with a goal being 100% of YPC members giving in any amount)
• Members are required to help with at least one project of their choice. Projects include, but are not limited to:
- Help give feedback on the website update
- Help adjust the Christmas program to accommodate social distancing
- Plan or lead a session of the MAC book club
- Plan and organize a (digital) fundraising event
- Help with the digital job fair (digital resume and mock interview sessions)
- Digatize MAC's client resources
- Host lunch and learns
