• Rehoming assistance form – Cat

  • Surrender process:

    1. Please complete this form, providing as much detail as possible as well as clear photos.

    2. Our surrender team will assess the application within 3-5 days and we will email you to notify you whether we are able to assist you or not.

    3. If we are able to assist, we will begin to find a suitable foster carer who can provide temporary care for the animal, to assess its temperament and behaviour. Please be patient as this process can take a few weeks.

    Please let us know if your pet is rehomed while we are in the process of looking for a foster home. We will contact you as soon as a foster home is found.

    4. Once in foster care, the animal will receive any necessary veterinary care, including vaccinations and desexing. When the animal is deemed healthy and ready for adoption, we will be make them available for adoption.

    Surrender fee:
    Happy Tails Animal Rescue may apply a discretionary surrender fee of $150 for rehoming an animal.  This fee will go directly towards covering the costs of medical care, vaccinations, desexing, food, and other essential needs that our rescued animals require while under our care.

    We will take into consideration individual circumstances when deciding if the fee is to be applied.

    PLEASE NOTE:
    If you surrender your pet to Happy Tails Animal Rescue, you will have a 72-hour cooling off period after the physical handover where you may reclaim your pet. If any urgent vet work has been completed by Happy Tails during this time, we will require reimbursement for costs before handing your pet back.
