Hello! You're reading this because you've generously donated your time to a MoHA project in the past, or because you're a friend/ally/lover of The Mall, and we have a flavor to ask of you:
Would you like to be a Mallunteer?
If you're not familiar with The Mall, it's a hotgorgeousbeautiful *~Bubblegum Memphis~* art-as-retail-as-art space inside a converted 1950s trailer in front of MoHA. We are volunteer-run and one of our primary goals is to help artists make a living, which as you may know, IS HARD WORK. So we need your help.
We're seeking volunteers to commit to about one (1) 7-hour shift per month typically. A typical day at The Mall is relatively chill, so between customers you can spend your time exploring the goods, reading, or catching up on emails or tv shows, even!
Once you've been trained, on a normal shift day you would be responsible for opening, ringing up customers, answering questions, generally being friendly (within reason), keeping things relatively tidy (nothing major), and closing up at the end of the day. We have A/C, an aromatherapy diffuser, and a bluetooth speaker for your comfort needs. Mallunteers are also eligible for a 10% discount on one purchase per shift, made the day of your shift, this is especially true if you show up to your shift wearing a self-made MALLUNTEER t-shirt.
In general, we're looking for Mallunteers to cover about one regular Saturday or Sunday per month, and/or a special event shift (usually a Friday or Saturday night).
If we haven't personally met you, since this a position of a little more responsibility we will ask to do a casual interview where we buy you a coffee and hangout for a min.
