About the MXLab Tech Activity Development Team
MdBio is currently offering a curriculum development opportunity for high school technology teachers to co-develop a cybersecurity curriculum unit with our team. Up to eight (8) teachers will be selected to participate in the co-design process in Fall 2017. The new unit will be made available to classes on the MXLab, distributed via professional development workshops for educators, and publicly distributed via MdBio Foundation’s website and social media. Participants will receive compensation of $25/hour for up to 20 hours of in person and independent work.
Participants are expected to:
Participate two (2) in-person meetings, up to three hours each.
Work independently, or in small groups, to complete homework assignments, including the creation of a curriculum outline, the creation of a curriculum unit (in 5E model), identification and vetting of supplemental resources, etc.
Participation in this opportunity requires teachers to commit to:
Attend a two meetings (TBD, Fall 2017)
Complete a teacher survey.
Work with other teachers to produce: a curriculum outline; a draft curriculum unit (5E model) which includes learning outcomes, assessment measures, supplemental materials, etc.; a finalized curriculum unit for pilot testing
