Welcome to Culture Advantage Fast Track Program!

This is a special online program (with live interactive sessions) for fully bilingual healthcare professionals. 

You will receive a 40-Hour Professional Medical Interpreter Certificate upon successful completion of all course requirements including participation in required practice sessions.

You may start at any time if you meet all requirements. 

If you are a healthcare professional (MD, PA, ARNP, DO, DDS, DMD, OD) or RN, LPN, PT, OT, RPH, SLP, etc), you may qualify to take the Expedited/Fast Track Program.

The program is designed to be completed within 4 to 6 weeks. Final Evaluation on the 6th or 7th week.

You may finish in 2-6 weeks, or in 12 weeks. (Please check the special fees.)

Your Program Plan includes the following requirements to be completed successfully:

1. Professional Medical Interpreting Concepts and Skills (Part 3 of the comprehensive program)
2. Additional Advanced MI Learning Activities
3. Professional Medical Translation Project based on your specialty and general medical terminology concepts.
4. Professional Final Evaluation (Multiple Choice MT and Standards, Sight Translation with Consecutive Interpreting, and Oral Skills Performance Evaluation)

Language Requirement:

You must have completed an Anatomy and Physiology Course of at least 4 credit hours in the non-English language to qualify for the Fast Track for Healthcare Professionals, or take the Challenge Exam for Part 2 of the Program (Comprehensive Medical Concepts in the Non-English Language). The fee for the Challenge Exam is $150.00.

After Part 3 is completed, you will take the Professional Final Evaluation (reserved at least one week in advance).

Please note that we require participation in live practice sessions by phone. They are on Saturdays at 10 am PST/12 noon CST/1 pm EST for one hour,

Special Option for HCPs who need to improve their medical terminology in either English or in the non-English language.

This option includes: Part 2 and Part 3 (For Part 2, Medical Terminology in the non-English language, plus Part 3 Professional Medical Interpreting Concepts and Skills.) Fee: $700.00 includes the final exam. (Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Farsi, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese are available.)

Or Part 1 and Part 3 (For Part 1, English Medical Terminology plus Part 3, Professional Medical Interpreting Skills and Concepts.)

All of the lessons and learning activities are online, and you may access them at any time.

In addition, HCPs submit a medical translation project to showcare their medical knowledge in both languages.

Live practice sessions, over the phone or over the Internet, are scheduled on Saturdays at 10 am PST/12 noon CST/1 pm EST. They are one-hour sessions.  Please contact me if you live in a time zone where this time is outside office hours. You may need to sign up for private sessions. Some Sunday sessions are offered. These sessions help you prepare for the Oral Skills Performance Evaluation. Participation in at least three sessions is required, however, we encourage attending more sessions to prepare for the final evaluation.

OPTIONAL: You may sign up for Private Practice (Extra Fee) $90.00 or Special Practice Session (Extra Fee $60.00) so we can make arrangements that would be convenient for you and the mentor.

Language-Specific Programs are available in:

Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, Farsi/Dari, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian,Tagalog, Spanish, Vietnamese.

* Language-neutral Program: If you speak a language that is not listed above, you need to choose Language-neutral program. Please contact me for the specific learning activities for the Language-neutral Program. This will include a Medical Language Project and a special Oral Skills Exam option.

 

Do you speak two non-English languages? You may sign up for an additional language and only submit the Medical Translation Project, and participate in the CFE for the second language for an additional fee of $250.00. You will receive a second certificate for the second language. Please contact me for this option.

Program Plan: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE (EXPEDITED)

Prepaid Option: Part 3 MIS: $400.00 
All Part 3 activities and a Medical Translation Project of your choice.

Plus separate fee of $100.00 for the Professional Performance Final Evaluation fee is to be paid when you reserve the final evaluation date. The final evaluation has to be reserved at least one week in advance. You qualify to receive discounts to selected CEU courses for one year after graduation.

Weekly Payment Option: $120.00 per week for 5 weeks. (Includes the Final Exam Fee.) For this option, you have to complete the program in 5 to 6 weeks and not earlier, or when you have completed all payments. This option may be offered for group enrollments. You only receive access to the part of the course that you are paying for.

After the Registration Fee is processed, you will receive log in access to the Online Orientation. After you complete the Orientation, you will take a pretest and you would be able to start on Part 3 Module 1.

Part 3: Module 1, Module 2, Module 3 and Module 4 are to be completed consecutively.

The Performance Evaluation is to be reserved at least one week in advance. You do not have to pay for the final evaluation until you reserve your final evaluation date.
