Performance Objective

The student will assemble the necessary supplies, and correctly manipulate zinc polycarboxylate cement for use in the cementation of a cast crown.
Errors
1. Assemble the necessary armamentarium, including waxed paper pad and spatula.
2. Fluffs powder. Dispensed one scoop of powder toward one end of the pad and 3 drops of liquid at the opposite end. Recapped the containers.
3. Used the flat side of the spatula to incorporate all the powder quickly into the liquid at one time. The mix must be completed within 30 seconds.
4. Gathered the material into a small mass on the slab using push-squoosh motion.
5. Ensured that the mix is somewhat thick with a shiny, glossy surface.
6. Thoroughly cleaned and dried spatula and slab.
