Cat Adoption Application

The life span of a cat can go well beyond 10 years (the average is 12-18 yrs.), and some may even surpass 20 years. Are you committed and willing to take responsibility for this cat for the duration of its life?
Are you prepared not just for the annual cost of basic cares for this cat (food, vaccinations, grooming, etc.), but also for medical needs required in case of sickness or injury?
GREGORY'S GIFT OF HOPE REQUIRES THAT ALL OUR ADOPTED CATS BE SPAYED/NEUTERED. All cats over the age of 6 months old will be altered before adoption unless there are medical reasons preventing it. All cats under 6 months of age will not be altered prior to adoption (per the recommendation of our veterinary partners). The expense of altering any cat that is adopted to you in an unaltered state will be your responsibility when the appropriate time arises. This timeline will be discussed with you at the time of possession of your adopted cat.

ADOPTION TERMS AND AGREEMENT

Please read carefully. By initialing a paragraph, you have agreed to that term. Omission of information or failure to answer all questions will result in this application being declined.
1) I, hereafter referred to as the "adopter", agree that the aforementioned cat is being adopted by me solely, as a pet for myself and/or my immediate family. I agree that I will not sell, give away, or otherwise dispose of said cat to any person, dealer, retailer, auction or other entity, for any reason.

2) I agree and understand that any surrendering back to GGOH will incur a $100 surrender fee and any said cat will need to be up to date on all vaccinations--copies to be provided by current veterinarian clinic in use. Failure to provide and abide by these conditions will result in a $500 fine, enforceable by court order.

3) I agree to care for this cat in a humane and responsible manner and to provide shelter, food, water, and proper veterinary care. I further agree that this cat shall reside inside my home and WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ROAM FREELY OUTSIDE. I agree that any feline adopted from GGOH will NOT be declawed.

4) I agree to pay the adoption fee to cover the rescue's expenses in caring for this cat prior to adoption. THIS FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. $325 Kittens (up to 6 months old), $275 Adult Cat (7 months to 8 years), $225 Seniors (9 years and older). The prices include the $25 registration fee for the microchip which will be done at the time of adoption.

5) NOTE: We spay/neuter all animals prior to their release with the exception of those under 6 months old or those who are under weight or physically unable to undergo the procedure at the time of adoption. In those instances the adoptive party will be responsible for arranging the altering when the appropriate time presents itself.

6) I understand and agree that Gregory's Gift of Hope Inc makes no representations or warranties (expressed or implied) about the animal's temperament and is absolved from any liabilities for future damage or injuries caused by said cat
