Volunteer Agreement

I understand that volunteers are essential to the efficacy and success of St. Leonard's Ministries. Therefore I, as a volunteer, am responsible for the success of this organization. My conduct while performing services reflects the attitude and philosophy of St. Leonard's Ministries.
Conduct:
As a volunteer of St. Leonard’s Ministries I understand that I must conduct myself in accordance with accepted professional standards. I must address program participants, staff, and fellow volunteers in a positive, productive and non-threatening manner. I understand that both the good name and the positive quality of the physical surroundings of the Agency must be respected. I understand appropriate levels of professional communication must be observed, preserving the confidential nature of program participant information. I will abstain from using alcohol, illegal substances, or other substances that would impair my ability to complete expected duties. I will not volunteer for St. Leonard's Ministries while under the influence. I understand that Solicitation and acceptance of gifts or gratuities by officers, board members, staff or volunteers for personal benefit in excess of minimal value are prohibited.
Allegations of actions contrary to this Code of Conduct must be submitted in signed, written form to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations or the Board President. The individual notified will then convene a hearing with the other two individuals included above and the individual/complainant. A subsequent meeting similarly constituted will be convened with the individual in question. If further time is needed to gather additional information, such arrangements will be put in place. A final decision will be arrived at through consensus of the Executive Director, the Director of Operations, the Board President and the supervisor of the individual in question. If the questionable or inappropriate conduct is of a grave nature, the relationship of the individual in question with St. Leonard’s Ministries may be terminated. If the conduct is deemed remediable, a written warning prohibiting any such further conduct will result.
Confidentiality:
I hereby state and affirm that I will keep any and all information I am privileged to in regards to clients, volunteers, donors, and staff confidential. I will keep all information disclosed concerning the substance abuse, physical or mental histories of individuals participating in programming through St. Leonard’s Ministries. I understand that any knowing and willful breach of this binding agreement regarding the disclosure of information deemed personal and confidential by the agency administrators could result in legal action undertaken on behalf of St. Leonard’s Ministries to enforce the terms of this agreement or address the violation thereof.
