WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR MICROBLADING PROCEDURE:
Microblading is a two-step process. Your new eyebrows are not complete until after your 6-week follow up visit.
Everyone heals differently and has different retention rates that affect the process. Following your post procedure instructions is crucial to the effectiveness of the procedure!
Temporary side effects from microblading include but are not limited to redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches and tenderness. You may use ice on the treated area to help with swelling/itching.
Your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear darker and more intense than anticipated immediately after the procedure and may darken/swell over the next couple days. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely.
Once the swelling subsides, the brows won’t appear as thick. As the scabs fall off naturally, the pigment will soften/lighten drastically and may seem as if it has disappeared all together. This is temporary and is due to the new skin forming over the treated area. Natural exfoliation will occur and the color will start to reemerge. By this time, the skins cell turnover process had enough time to restore your color.
A touch up is necessary 4-8 weeks following the initial procedure (we all heal differently) to finalize this 2 step procedure and achieve the desired outcome.
