Ho ho ho! How are you? And how does it feel to be “child’s age”? Time goes by so quickly, doesn’t it? I still remember seeing you for the first time when you were just a baby. Anyway, I’m writing this letter because I heard some worrying news from the elves. They said that you are not sure whether to believe in me anymore. I hope it isn’t true, “child’s name”, but don’t feel bad. It’s perfectly normal to have doubts about things as you get older. That’s just part of life.
I remember the first time someone told me that reindeer could fly. I didn’t believe it was possible until one cold and snowy night, a whole group of reindeer flew right over my head. I nearly fell over! I knew from that day forward I was going to be a believer. I decided I would believe in things even if I couldn’t see them.
Sometimes, as people get older, they stop believing in the magic of Christmas which means they stop believing in me too. This makes me sad, but the thought of all the boys and girls who do still believe always cheers me up. I am very, very real, “child’s name”. And just to prove it, I’m going to deliver something extra special for you this year. I heard you’ve got your heart set on “present they hope to get”, so make sure you’re as good as you can be.
Maybe I should get Mrs Claus to write you a letter too. She says I’m getting too fat for my suit and my loud snoring keeps her awake at night, so she knows how very real I am! But she still loves me very much. You see, “child’s name”, that’s something else I believe in, even if I can’t see it. Whatever you do in life, you must never stop believing in love, because friends and family are the most important thing you will ever have. Oh… that reminds me… please say hello to “name of friend, relative or pet”.
Don’t ever stop believing, “child’s name”. Remember, I will always believe in you.
