Please be aware that you must be a TMA major or minor to qualify for funds.
Grant funds should be applied for and used before the next application period begins (For example: if you are going to a conference in March, you should apply in the winter period)
Application due dates are as follows:
Winter: January 31
Spring/Summer: March 31
Fall: September 30
Applications received after the due date will be reviewed in the next application period.
Creative work applications can include proposals for the following:
- TMA 536 Projects
- Research Efforts
- Dramaturgy Projects
- Media Arts Projects
- Other Media Arts or Theatre projects*
*Additional information or justification may be requested for proposals that fall under this category. Money will not be approved until the project is approved by the department.
Since funds are limited, there is strong competition. It will be the responsibility of the faculty mentors, department areas, and the TMA Grant committee to judge the relative merit of all applications.
Note: Receiving funds does not entitle the project to other TMA resources (i.e. equipment, rooms, theatres, insurance etc.) Permission to use these resources must be applied for separately.
Please be aware that TMA Project Grants DO NOT cover the following:
- Mask Club productions
- Food (except for craft services)
- Personal supplies (i.e. headshot printing, conference supplies, etc)
- Classroom supplies
- Medical costs
Please note: the maximum awards for these types of grants are $2,000.
