The West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission invites accomplished and emerging artists, with a connection to the City of West Chicago or currently living in the Chicagoland area to submit up to three digital files of original art for consideration for the 2018 Community Banner Project. All media are welcome, with no limitation to technique or subject matter, as long as the theme revolves around
The artwork will be transferred to vinyl banners measuring (h) 60” x (w) 30”.
An entry is comprised of up to three JPEG images at 72 dpi measuring (h)7" x (w)5". All files should be numbered and named with the artist's last name and first name. Ex: 01Lastname_Firstname.jpg and submitted via this form.
The independent Juror for this year's exhibit will be International artist Bodo Gsedl, who resides in West Chicago’s Sister City of Taufkirchen (Vils), Germany. He has agreed to jury submissions of art for the highly anticipated exhibit which will be installed in downtown West Chicago from May through September.
If selected for inclusion in the West Chicago Community Banner Project Exhibition, the artist gives the City of West Chicago and the West Chicago Cultural Arts Commission permission to use the selected image for publicity purposes related to this project.
Awards: A People's Choice Award will be presented to the artist who receives the most votes from the public. The award will consist of the artist's banner following its removal at the conclusion of the display in September. Also, among those who voted for the winning banner, a random drawing will be taken and the winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to Gallery 200.
