  • Hello! Thank you for showing interest in working with Dr. Deanna Cherrone on advancing your health.

    As part of engaging with Dr. Cherrone, it is important that you have an understanding of functional medicine and its principles. In order to ensure best outcomes, we ask that you complete this 15 minute educational module and mini-questionnaire prior to your first visit. This will help us better understand you and how we can best help you.
  • Let's start by telling us who you are?

  • What is Functional Medicine?

    The conventional model of healthcare fails most patients suffering from chronic diseases, pain and illness because it does not address the underlying causes, nor does it teach the tools needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle once the initial crisis is averted.

  • Functional Medicine is Different.

    In contrast to the conventional model, Functional Medicine treats the patient as a whole rather than a set of individual systems. This patient-centered model creates a partnership between the patient and the practitioner. Taking the time needed to listen to the patient's story, the practitioner can create personalized therapeutic strategies.

    Our Partnerships Go Beyond Putting a Bandaid on a Symptom.

    Functional Medicine, much like Integrative Medicine, blends conventional medicine with scientifically relevant alternative medicines and therapies. It delves even deeper into the root causes of illness and provides ongoing care to meet a patient’s changing needs. All dietary and lifestyle recommendations and nutritional supplementation is customized to each patient so that they are able to alter the course of their symptoms and/or chronic disease toward renewed vitality and longevity.

  • Hear from the Experts...

We hope to instill in you the belief that being your best self benefits not only you but everyone in your life."

  • The Role of Health Coaches

  • Image-49
  • Doctors don't always have the time or resources to help their patients build healthy lifestyle habits, so Health Coaches are needed to fill the void in our current healthcare system.

    What makes a Health Coach unique?

    A Health Coach is a supportive mentor and wellness authority who works with the doctor to to help you feel your best through food and lifestyle changes. Because there is no one diet or way of exercising  for everyone, Health Coaches tailor wellness programs to meet your individual needs and help with gradual implementation and accountability. They support you as a whole person and work with you on a regular basis to provide motivation and the reinforcement that results in positive long-standing outcomes.

  • Your First Appointment

    What to expect
  • Image-50
  • Your new patient appointment will involve a comprehensive consultation with the doctor.

    Your first visit will last a minimum of 2 hours depending on the complexity of your case. You will review your medical history in detail providing a timeline of signifcant life and health events. A thorough physical examination will be performed, your specific needs and desires discussed, applicable diagnostic testing recommended, and an initial treatment plan including dietary, lifestyle and supplement recommendations will be provided.

  • Functional Diagnostics & Lab Tests

    What to expect
  • Image-55
  • Functional medicine searches for the underlying imbalances and biochemical root-causes which can contribute to illness and chronic disease. Changes in the body occur long before disease is manifested, so functional medicine testing is ideal for prevention-oriented physicians and patients concerned about addressing symptoms, reversing or delaying the onset of chronic disease and optimizing health.

    We use many tests to determine your current state of function (note what we able to test for below) with the goal being to optimize that function for long standing health and vitality.

    * Digestive, absorptive, and microbiological imbalances
    * Structural imbalances
    * Methylation issues
    * Genetic mutations, MTHFR and COMT genes
    * Nutritional Deficiencies
    * Hormonal Imbalances
    * Detoxification and Biotransformational imbalances
    * Immune imbalances
    * Inflammatory imbalances

  • After we have diagnosed and identified your health challenges, we will design a comprehensive plan involving diet, exercise and lifestyle modifications, customized for you. This will involve outlining foods and supplements that will help your body heal and recover, reviewing physical exercises that will rejunivate your body and suggesting other brain and emotional health exercises to improve mood and memory, and increase energy and motivation.

    We will work closely with you over the next several months to achieve your goals. We help you track and monitor your progress to ensure that you are moving in the right direction.

    Our goal is to be your health partner on this journey where you are in the driver seat.

  • Your Level of Commitment

  • Image-41
  • This is an extremely important point to consider. The end results of functional medicine treatments are based largely on your efforts to do the recommended testing and incorporate dietary and lifestyle changes. If we can understand your commitment now, we can discuss options to get you the care you need and that you are ready for.
