HSDC School + Community Partnership Interest Form (SY25)
  • WE'RE GLAD YOU ARE HERE!

Thank you for considering HSDC as your Arts Partner & Community Resource.
  • ABOUT US

Our approach to In-School Dance Residencies is a whole school, whole student partnership. Dance and creative expression allow our Partner Teachers (classroom teachers) to see their students in a new and authentic way, and HSDC Teaching Artists are there to guide the experience. We are an IN-SCHOOL Dance Residency that focuses on student voice and choice, Partner Teacher collaboration, and exploratory learning. We believe dance is for everyBODY; our residency programs serve K-12 students and Adaptive/Diverse Learners. We cultivate learning spaces that are safe, supportive, and celebrate inquisitiveness + varietal learning through the art of dance.

  • RESIDENCY FRAMEWORK

An HSDC In-School Dance Residency consists of a minimum of three (3) participating classrooms and up to twenty (20) classrooms per unit. Residency units have a minimum of four (4) weeks and can range up to thirty-plus (30+) weeks. Residencies include a teaching team pair (2 TAs), planning time with each Partner Teacher, a dedicated program manager, and basic supplies required to execute classes. For schools with up to 6 participating classrooms, students will meet once per week on "Dance Day" for 55 minutes per classroom, consecutively on the same day of each week. Residencies with 7+ participating classrooms will have an increased number of Dance Days per week to accommodate the 55-minute sessions. We are also able to accommodate for virtual/hybrid learning. If your school does not have capacity for a full In-School Residency, we also offer one-off workshop experiences and PD for classroom teachers. Please indicate your interest in these offerings in the section below.
