Coaching Agreement
Coaching is an ongoing professional relationship between a coach and a client who desires support, growth, and positive change. Together, we agree to the following:
1. Nature of Coaching
Coaching is designed for individuals who are emotionally stable, functioning effectively in daily life, and seeking to make meaningful improvements in one or more areas of their lives. While coaching can be personally meaningful and growth-oriented, it is not psychotherapy, counseling, mental health treatment, crisis intervention, or treatment for substance use disorders or other addictive behaviors.
While emotions and difficult life experiences may naturally arise during coaching conversations, coaching remains future-focused and action-oriented.
Coaching services are provided in accordance with the ethical standards of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
2. Purpose of Coaching
The primary focus of life, leadership, career, wellness, grief, and life transition coaching is to help clients explore, clarify, and move toward the goals and changes that are most important to them. Areas of coaching may include, but are not limited to:
* Personal growth and self-awareness
* Navigating grief and life transitions
* Leadership development
* Career exploration and advancement
* Spiritual growth
* Wellness and healthy lifestyle habits
* Life balance
* Decision-making
* Achieving personal and professional goals

Coaching services are provided in accordance with the ethical standards of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
3. Professional Boundaries
The coach is not functioning as a licensed mental health professional. Coaching is not intended to diagnose or treat mental illness or serve as a substitute for psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric care, medical treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or other licensed professional services. If appropriate, the coach may recommend that the client seek additional support from another qualified professional.
Coaching is not appropriate for individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis or thoughts of self-harm. In such circumstances, immediate support from emergency services or a licensed mental health professional is recommended.

4. Coaching Relationship
Coaching may consist of a single session or continue over several weeks or months. Many clients choose to continue coaching after experiencing its benefits, often describing it as having a personal trainer for their life goals.
Sessions may be conducted in person, by telephone, or via Zoom. Many clients choose to meet weekly or biweekly to maintain momentum, support, and accountability.
5. Coaching Methods
Coaching may include brainstorming, education, values clarification, reflective questioning, written exercises, goal setting, action planning, accountability, behavioral change, examining current habits and lifestyles, and other coaching tools designed to facilitate growth and progress.
6. Communication
Coaching is most effective when both coach and client communicate honestly, openly, and respectfully.
7. Confidentiality
The coaching relationship is confidential. All information shared during coaching sessions will be kept confidential unless disclosure is required by law or is necessary to prevent imminent harm to the client or another person.
8. Fees and Scheduling
The fee for an individual coaching session is $250.00. Coaching packages are available on my website. Most clients purchase a package upfront of six ($237.50) or twelve ($225.00).
North Star Coaching Packages
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, except in emergencies, will be charged the full session fee.
9. Coaching Partnership
I am committed to creating a collaborative coaching partnership with my coach, Laura Lawrence Wilcock, CPLC, built on trust, respect, honesty, and shared commitment to my growth.
10. Agreement
By signing below, both the coach and the client acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this Coaching Agreement.
