Applications are limited to young adults, ages 18-25 years old, with lived experience of mental health and/or addiction recovery. Applicants will be scored based on the following criteria:
1. Applicant’s involvement in making a positive difference within the mental health/addiction recovery community, such as advocacy, activism, social justice, peer roles or other general mental health/addiction services.
2. Ability to demonstrate how the applicant will share information gained through attending Peerpocalypse with his or her own community.
3. Applicant’s representation of a group or community that may be underrepresented.
*It is NOT required that all three criteria are fulfilled to receive a scholarship award, but fulfilling multiple criteria is helpful.
MHAO will award full scholarships, which will cover the conference registration fee and hotel costs (based on double-occupancy) for up to four nights. All other costs and arrangements associated with travel (i.e. travel to/from Seaside, meals not provided during the conference) will be the responsibility of the scholarship grantee. Deadline to apply is November 15, 2017. Applicants will be informed of award decisions no later than November 30, 2017.
