The Winter Trek goal is to share Christ-centered fellowship with Deerfoot brothers as we experience the challenging adventure of High Peaks winter hiking. We hope that participants will be challenged and encouraged to keep growing and building godly men as experienced during the summer season at camp.
Deerfoot Winter Treks are for staff and alumni who are at least 18 years old. Participants should be in good physical condition and ready to hike High Peak Mountains in winter conditions. Winter hiking can be more strenuous than summer hiking and conditions can be severe. Participants are required to secure the necessary clothing and gear for winter hiking.
Resource: ADK Winter Mountaineering Handbook. This resource has excellent information about how to prepare for Winter Trek. Please use the day-hike check list on page 39.
