Feminism has moved the fuck up to the front lines of social debate, heralding the values of intersectionality and encouraging dialogues that embrace multiple layers of experience. Feminist Fuck It Fest (FFIF) will be a two week festival in April 2018 produced by The Storefront Theatre with Managing Artistic Director, Claire Burns and Managing Producer, Sedina Fiati at the helm.
We are looking for pieces that are up to one hour FFIF. Work can be at any stage of development and all genres of live performance work are welcome (theatre, comedy, dance, performance art, burlesque, music etc.). Work must feature (self identified) women (trans, cis, gender non conforming and gender non binary) in leading roles and a majority of women if there is a larger creative team. We welcome subversive, fun, challenging, revelatory work that embraces feminism.
We highly encourage submissions from and will be prioritizing work by artists from marginalized communities. Union and non union artists are welcome to apply. All artists will receive box office proceeds as compensation.
Please contact email@example.com with any questions. Deadline is January 12, 2018, 11:59pm.
This festival is supported by the Ontario Arts Council and has been made possible [in part] by the Government of Canada.
