Barlow Endowment Application

The Barlow Endowment for Music Composition awards commissions to composers for NEW WORKS that have promise of outstanding artistic value. In awarding these commissions, the Board of Advisors encourages a close working relationship between the winning composer and the performer/s of the premiere.

All application materials must be RECEIVED BEFORE 11:59 PM (MIDNIGHT) MOUNTAIN DAYLIGHT TIME ON JUNE 1. The Endowment will not make exceptions for submissions delayed because of natural disasters, faulty internet, applicant neglect or any other circumstances. The online application form will be disabled after 11:59 PM MDT on June 1. Please plan accordingly.

Please note that all submissions are final. After submitting the application, applicants may not change or add anything to their submission.

The results will be announced via email and on our website and social media platforms before August 31. Payment of these awards will begin after January 1 of the following year.

Only one recording per score is allowed. If you have recordings for separate movements, choose the movement you feel best represents your work.
