The NYSTEA Student Conference was initially designed to be a two year conference. Students who wish to return for a
third year have the opportunity to provide a leadership role, yet are required to apply for acceptance to the Third Year Program.
These students provide ongoing orientation to first time conference participants and perform specific duties throughout the conference. This includes two mandatory Third Year Student Leadership Meetings, one of which is held during a portion of the Activity Time on Friday night. The Third Year Student Luncheon on Saturday.
Additionally, it is the expectation that each Third Year Student performs all assigned duties during The Student Conference in a professional manner. In order for students to be considered for a third year of attendance, they must:
- Applicant must submit a one page typed essay explaining the value of returning and participating in the NYSTEA conference for a third year.
- Sponsor must read the submitted essay and complete their section.
- Both parts must be completed by October 15.
