  • Registration Overrides

*Visiting students - final grades for pre-requisite courses have must be posted in order to process overrides.

***Due to the high volume or requests, overrides may take a little longer than normal to be processed***

Thank you for your request for an override.

Please read the following information, questions might be answered below.

    1.  Process:  This process is not automatic but a manual process.  Depending on the high volume of student traffic, please give the processor 48-72 business hours. If you have not received communication that the override has been processed, please try to schedule the course.  It is always a good idea to come in person during peak registration times (December/January, May, & July/August).

    2.  Pre-requisite check:  You can always check the pre-requisite by using the catalog to see what the requirements are for the class getting an error.  See the appropriate catalog:  http://www.dcc.edu/catalog/default.aspx; click on COURSES.

    3.  Co-requisite Courses and Errors:  Some classes are required to be taken at the same time and you may receive a "Co-Requisite Error". These classes have to be added to worksheet together and then submitted. Please be aware that many BIOL, PHYS, and CHEM lecture and lab courses are recommended co-requisites and require the completion of both lecture and laboratories with grades.

    4.  Instructor Approval/Department Approval: Some classes require departmental approval and ID verification.

    5.  Evaluation:  This form is not for a course to be evaluated.  This form is used to request an override into a class that requires pre-requisites that may have been taken at a different school or requires special circumstances.

    6.  Rules:  Please understand that Delgado rules and policies for pre-requisites and co-requisites are to be followed while attending.

    7.  Section Number Meanings: Numbers and letters in the course section number identify where and/or how the course is taught.

If the first character in the Section Number is:

    • "1" - the course is face-to-face at the City Park Campus.
    • "2" - the course is face-to-face at the West Bank Campus.
    • "6" - the course is face-to-face at the River City Campus.
    • "8" - the course is face-to-face at the Sidney Collier Campus.
    • "W" - the course is a fully online section with no class meetings.
    • "V" - the course is a virtual online section with online class meetings

If the second character in the Section Number is:

    • "H" - the course is a hybrid section (part in-person, part online).
    • "A" - this is an 8-Week course for the first half of the semester.
    • "B" - this is an 8-Week course for the second half of the semester.

    8.  Visiting students:  Final grades for pre-requisite courses have to be posted on transcripts before an override can be requested.

***THIS IS NOT A FORM TO REQUEST A FULL SECTION OVERRIDE: Check the schedule periodically as students adjust their schedules and drop classes and the division adds seats and new sections.***
