The 2018 Symposium theme is "Expanding Horizons of Faith Community Nursing Practice."
Participants will gain knowledge of faith community nurse practice in diverse settings, as well as, information to promote integration of best-practice research and collaborative partnerships into practice.
1. Describe the role of faith community nurses in diverse practice settings.
2. Examine results of data-based studies in faith community nursing practice.
3. Analyze aspects of faith community nurse partnerships with individuals, organizations, both faith-based and secular, and other professional specialties that focus on spiritual care.
Concurrent workshops are an opportunity for you to share your story and teach your peers. Each workshop is 60 minutes and should include 10 minutes for questions. Workshop formats may include presentations, discussions, activities, demonstrations or whatever approach you think will best engage the participants. Be creative! See tip sheet for suggestions and evaluation rubric.
Posters should include origional content about research, case studies, outreach projects, tools for FCN practice or anything else that you think will fit the theme and provide best-practice information and encouragement to your peers. Lead presenters are expected register for the symposium, set up and take down their poster, and be available at the scheduled poster presentation time to interact with attendees. Posters should be no larger than a 40"x60" board (foam-core recommended). Posters must be able to stand on a display easel without additional support (easel provided on request). See tip sheet for suggestions and evaluation rubric.
Your workshop or poster submission should reflect the theme and outcomes of the symposium and be your original work.
We anticipate receiving more high-quality proposals than we can include in the conference agenda. Submissions will be ranked by the volunteer CNE Symposium Committee and Westberg Institute CNE Provider Unit staff. See scoring rubric for more information.
