  • J.Staff Job Description

  • The most important role of every JP staffer is to be a Christian witness in word and deed. Secondly, it is to spend time with the campers, build relationships, and contribute to establishing and maintaining a Christian community.

J Staffers work alongside the Tool/Site Coordinator and TCA to assist with tools, lumber, and helping set up the work sites each morning. J. Staffers serve on the work site, participate in JP skits and fun activities, engage with JP campers, help facilitate community fun, goof-off with campers and basically help make a JP week awesome!

    J. Staff Requirements:

    • 1 week commitment (8 days)
    • Must be a current 10th, 11th or 12th grader
    • $100 stipend will be provided
  • Personal Questionnaire

  • Please respond to the following questions:
  • 7. Would God be pleased with the content of your social media outlets? As a staff member of the Jeremiah Project, you are in a leadership position and will be viewed as a leader in a Christian organization. God requires more of us if we desire to be leaders in His church (see 1 Timothy 3:1-10). Is the content of your online "self" (pictures, videos, text, etc.) consistent with that of a follower of Christ?  Does the content contradict or reinforce basic Christian values and morals? Please review your page before completing the application and answer the next question:

  • Staff Training

  • Staff Training at the Jeremiah Project is a significant piece of our staffing model. During staff training you will hang out and get to know a group of strangers who will quickly become your new JP Staff family. There are late nights together of laughing, talking and getting to know each other and growing together towards God. During this time you will reflect back on what it was like to be in middle school and how to really connect with middle school students.

Staff Training is included in the week you serve. You will need to arrive at Staff Training on Friday by 5:00pm. Typically, JP staff are able to leave by 1:00pm the Saturday camp ends. All staffers MUST attend camp from the entirety of Staff Training and the camp week.

By typing your name below you understand that attending Staff Training is required of you as a JP Staff member.

  • Your Availability

  • There are many factors involved when placing JP Staff members on a camp week. We must also take into consideration the JP staff as a team. Factors such as the strengths of staff members, the age and gender of staff members and also a balance of new staff and veteran staff members will be considered. All week placement dates will be discussed with each staff member to confirm their availability.

You will also be given the opportunity to register to serve with JP for two weeks of camp. If you are interested in serving two JP weeks please be sure to indicate that on the application.

Please Note: The more weeks you are able to check that you are available, the easier it will be to ensure you are placed on a camp week!

  • Personal References

  • References: Please supply the contact informatoin for two personal references. You must include their NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS and a PHONE NUMBER.  You may want to include the name of your Youth Pastor or Pastor.

NOTE: Returning staffers do not need to supply references.

  • Background Checks

  • The safety and security of those whom God has placed in our care is of the upmost important to the Jeremiah Project.  It is because of this responsibility that JP runs comprehensive background checks on all JP staff and volunteers.  If you are accepted in a JP Staff position and are over the age of 18, then a background check must be completed.  We have partnered with a professional screening company and will provide you with a secure electronic release form and background check form.

  • Transportation Requirements

  • J. Staff are NOT required to bring vehicles and are strongly encouraged to carpool with other staff members when possible or to be dropped off at camp by a parent.

  • Junior Staff Parental Approval Required

  • Parent approval required for Junior Staff applicants only: By typing your name, you understand the financial commitment that may be required by you as the parent if your church is unable to provide financial support. You are also aware of the date your son or daughter has requested to serve and do not have any conflicting events that would preclude your son or daughter from participating the entire time.
