ELSE Foundation (EF) forums are creative research events which connect researchers, thinkers and makers around a topic.
EF forums aim to be cross disciplinary, actively expanding ideas of creative research. For example, a forum might be a geography research institute hosting a conversation with an art & architecture research project, followed by screenings of film and video works jointly curated by the two research groups.
Forums can be catalysts for new collaborations, the culmination of a project, a project in process, or just an excuse to get different people with disparate approaches to a theme in the same room for some active creative research.
Forums can be proposed by EF members and attended by EF members and other invited guests. Forums can take place either before or after Transart residencies (currently Mexico City, Berlin, New York) or other proposed cities subject to EF board approval. Forums are generally 1-3 days in duration.
Forums are one of the formats that ELSE Foundation champions to expand the practice and reach of creative research. EF encourages forums that play with, expand and re-imagine traditional academic spaces and forms of presentation.
EF endeavord to support forums by including your events in our programming, announcements, providing a structure for your submission calls and location for your event if possible. Each forum is responsible for their own organization, programming and funding.
