Balto club membership

Balto kayak club was established in 2012.

Our primary purpose is to offer an open inclusiveness into paddlesports. We operate primarily by the Abbey in Baltinglass but we are a very active club running frequent river, sea and lake trips.

We coach Kayaking, Canoeing and stand up paddleboarding with all equipment provided. Personal equipment should be old shoes, swim wear (Wetsuit if possible but not essential during the summer)

We provide qualified instructors that are fully insured and Garda vetted. Learning should always be fun and we know how to have fun :-)

We welcome new members all through the year from age 8 to 108

CLUB SAFETY STATEMENT

Never Kayak / Canoe / SUP alone

Do not Kayak / Canoe / SUP if you cannot swim

Always wear a buoyancy aid and ensure your Kayak / Canoe has enough buoyancy

Declaration I accept that kayaking / Canoeing / Stand up paddleboarding are adventure sports, which by their very nature are sports that involves a degree of risk of personal injury or death. I acknowledge that Balto kayak club and its instructors cannot ensure my complete safety at all times. I accept these risks and agree to be responsible for my own actions and involvement. I accept that Balto kayak club cannot be held liable for any injuries caused to me or others or their property by me, due to my participation in this sport*

Ability Declaration I can confirm that all members submitted on this form can swim at least 25 metres and are proficient in treading water.*

Balto kayak club reserves the right to refuse membership or in certain circumstances revoke membership. Term time for membership runs for 1 year from January to January, members starting through other parts of the year are still liable for full membership fees and will be required to renew membership when January falls next.*

We help each other as committed team memmbers. We respect the club and other members boats, boards and equipment. Safety of ourselves and others is paramount.The instructors / committee members decision is final for any breaches of the above. Minor infractions will incur a short suspension, major infractions will incur permanent expulsion. Lets make sure we never have to go through this :-)*
