  • Your total THI score is {totalTHI}.

Your score represents how much your tinnitus affects you.

    • 00-16: Slight or No Handicap (Grade 1)
    • 18-36: Mild Handicap (Grade 2)
    • 38-56: Moderate Handicap (Grade 3)
    • 58-76: Severe Handicap (Grade 4)
    • 78-100: Catastrophic Handicap (Grade 5)
  • What does this mean?

The higher your Total THI, the more likely you will find the Tinnitus Synergy program a significant benefit for you.  Although we go out of our way to make our program simple adn fun, the effort required to apply our program is more often a fit for people with a THI of 38 points or above. Nevertheless, we have MANY people below 38 improve in our program, and you are certainly welcome to participate.

There are 3 subscales within the Total THI.

We will send you a report with the subscale scores.

The higher your Functional subscale score and the presence of some hearing loss, the more likely you are to benefit from the Auditory Discrimination Therapy (ADT). This is part of the program we did original research on. You may also benefit from wearing heariing aids.

The higher your Emotional and Catastrophic subscale scores, the more likely that you will benefit greatly from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is a very powerful part of the Health Brain Lifestyle phase of Tinnitus Synergy.

People with 30% or higher, and a willingness to consider and work to change unhelpful thoughts, usually find GREAT benefit from the CBT exercises in our program.  Even 15% should see significant improvement with these CBT exercises.
