Soundstreams, Canada’s largest presenter of new music, seeks creative collaborators for our 2018-19 Ear Candy series, dedicated to musical exploration and discovery in Toronto’s hottest venues. Ear Candy invites audiences to throw off the expectations of the formal concert hall and engage with new projects, artists and presentation formats: small venues and big ideas.
Projects have included our sell-out sensation Electric Messiah, a stripped down, cross-genre, electro-improv take on Handel’s classic; Electric Counterpoint, a plugged-in take on the minimalism movement; and flute virtuoso Claire Chase presenting her acclaimed solo project Density 2036. These experiences inhabit spaces like Toronto’s iconic Drake Underground, The Theatre Centre Incubator, and Buddies in Bad Times Cabaret space.
