Umpires are required to complete an online application as well as a Liability Waiver form prior to the start of the Season or first game. If an umpire is under age (17 or under) Parent/Guardian must complete the Youth Umpire Liability Waiver. (Link to the Liability Waiver is below.)
Prior to their first game, all Umpires or Parent/Guardian must completely and properly fill out a W9 form. FVPB will send a 1099 to the address indicated on Umpires W9, by January 31, 2022. (Link to the W9 Form is below.)
All umpires who wish to participate in Sanction Games, are required to register through Pony and pay the processing fee.
Umpires will be paid by Autopay twice a month, using the information from the W9, starting 2 weeks after Opening Day. No checks will be issued at the FVPB fields.
Umpires are responsible for their conduct on or near the FVPB fields and to set a good, positive example to all players and families. They agree to know and uphold all the rules to the best of their knowledge, as well as FVPB policies and procedures. If they, at anytime need help or have questions, they are to call on the Board Member on Duty to assist them. They are expected to avoid arguing or criticizing of any manager, coach, player or parent at the fields. Violation of the rules, regulations and policies of FVPB shall subject Umpires to disciplinary action, including but not limited to private reprimand, public reprimand, probation, suspension, and expulsion, or such penalty as FVPB’s Disciplinary Committee deems appropriate under the circumstances. All discipline imposed pursuant to this Article is subject to review by a quorum of the Disciplinary Committee, whose decision on such discipline is final.
