Upon receiving and processing the completed application, you will be contacted via email with the determination of your application status. If you do not select the option below to pay when submitting your application, your dues and processing fee will be invoiced to the billing address listed above.
Membership dues are based on the month you are approved. For example, if you are approved in March 2023, your membership term will be March 2023-February 2024. Your dues for the next year will be due February 28, 2024.
This application is made in accordance with and subject to the bylaws and articles of the Chattanooga Apartment Association (CAA). We agree to abide by the Pledge of the CAA:
The members of the Association pledge themselves to:
- Maintain high standards of apartment operation and construction.
- Operate in highest level of professional multifamily management.
- We shall promote, employ and maintain a high standard of integrity and performance to all obligations and services in the operation of our properties and business.
- We shall operate and maintain our properties and businesses in a fair and honorable manner ever mindful of the existence and intent of the Chattanooga Apartment Association, and recognize and comply with this organization’s by-laws.
- We shall seek to take no unfair advantage over any other member of the Chattanooga Apartment Association, and we shall conduct our business in such a manner to avoid controversies, discontent and unrest with and among the members of the Chattanooga Apartment Association, and we shall support and facilitate the membership of the Chattanooga Apartment Association.
- We shall strive to continually promote the education and fraternity of the membership and to promote the progress and dignity of our industry in creating a better image of itself in order that the public may be better served.
- We shall refrain from all schemes designed to mislead or defraud the public through advertising, marketing or otherwise
We agree to the following:
- In the event of termination of membership, we will immediately discontinue the use of Chattanooga Apartment Association insignia in any form.
- The CAA may use all of the information provided in this application to contact me about CAA services, products and events.
- We realize the CAA is a non-profit organization that exists for the purpose of its members. Therefore, we agree to timely payment (within 30 days of receipt of invoices) of all balances due to the CAA.
- Membership automatically renews annually, and membership dues are paid on an annual basis. Members may terminate this agreement upon notice of the renewal for the upcoming year. This notice must be given at least 30 days prior notice.
- If we are dropped as a member for non-payment of dues, monies, or any other billing, the entire annual dues and billing shall remain due and payable to the CAA. Additionally, if litigation becomes necessary to collect on any balance due, we agree to pay any reasonable attorney's fees in addition to court cost and cost of collection.
- We understand if our company's contact and/or billing information changes, we are responsible for reporting this to the CAA to ensure records are updated, and we continue to receive CAA communications.
The percentage of CAA/NAA dues that will be non-deductible for income tax purposes in 2023 is 25%. This percentage is calculated using the total amount of dues NAA receives from members and the total amount that is expended on lobbying. The amount that NAA expends on lobbying includes the partnership contribution for the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), and how that money is expended by NMHC.
