  • The Best Building Practices Education & Expo is intended to be a relaxed networking event where Builders & Associate Members can connect. Associate vendors can showcase new products/services, offer special deals to Builder attendees and get to know your Builder members.

    Where: Durham Hilton (3800 Hillsborough Road, Durham)

    Event Details:

    12:30 - 1:30 pm: Early Setup for Vendors (big stuff)

    1:30 - 2:30 pm Associate Education: MAX OUT! Get more out of your HBA Membership.

    Pre-Conference Professional Development Workshop for Vendors & New Members

    2:30 - 3:30 pm Booth Setup

    2:45 -4 pm Builder Education Session (Top 5 Inspection Fails & How to Avoid Them)

    3:30 - 6 pm Expo

    BOOTH DETAILS: Booths are $450, includes two vendor rep attendees (additional attendees are $25 each) and consists of a 6’ banquet table and 2 chairs. There will be NO pipe & drape at this event. Booth space will be randomly assigned (competitors will NOT be adjacent to one another); event sponsors get to pick their booth location if they commit by 1.15.18.  A $50 late fee will be applied on all forms received after 2-5-18.

    RULES & REGS: I/We agree to abide by the rules and regulations (see below) made by the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, & Chatham Counties (HBADOC), and the facility in which the event is being held.

    BUILDER INCENTIVE:  In order to encourage MORE builders to attend and visit your booth, we suggest you hand out coupons to builders that visit your booth. These coupons can be a discount for products and services you offer or some other incentive. Please let us know about your incentive and we will use it in our promotions to builders. These should be “ONE NIGHT ONLY” offers.

    We will also have a Bingo Game for Builders. Each booth will be randomly assigned a number. Builders will get a Bingo card upon entry to the expo and visit booths to get Bingo. Once they do, they turn their card in at a designated area for a chance to win a Yeti Cooler.

  • Rules & Regs

    1. Payment/Refunds: Payment for my booth and all associated fees must be received by the event date. NO refunds for cancellations after February 5, 2018.

    2. Vendor Parking: There is plenty of free, convenient parking at the hotel.

    3. Educational Component. There will be two (2) sessions - one for Vendors/Associate Members and one for Builders.
    1 - 2 pm: Vendor/Association Session.
    3 - 4 pm: Builder Session
    3:30 - 6 pm: Expo

    4. Booth Setup & Details: I/We agree to set up our tabletop display on Thursday, February 15, between 12:30 - 1:30 or 2:30 - 3:30 pm.  WE AGREE TO BE COMPLETELY SET UP BY 3:30 PM. I understand that the Expo takes place from 3:30 - 6 pm. I/We agree not to dismantle our booth before 6 pm, and agree to remove all display items from the premises by 8 pm. A booth consists of one 6’ table and 2 chairs and includes 2 representative fees. I understand that my booth fee includes two (2) representatives, additional representatives are $25 per person. Each attendee gets one (1) complimentary drink ticket.

    5. Inclement Weather: If there is a chance of bad weather, HBADOC will make a decision of whether to postpone or not at 9 AM the day of the event and let everyone know via email or phone message. A make-up date in March will be coordinated, but there will be no refunds for cancellation/no show.
