Leadership Fiji is an independent, non-partisan, non-aligned entity, which depends on support drawn from the corporate, public and community sectors and was launched in 2000.
Our vision is to develop and enhance the quality of leaders in Fiji.
The development of leaders is fundamental to a Nation’s well-being and to the development of a society that is economically, socially and politically successful.
The Leadership Fiji (LF) program is aimed specifically at assisting our emerging leaders to cope with demands of the ever-changing world so that our society reaches its full potential in the widest sense.
About the Scholarship Awards
The Board of Leadership Fiji has established a scholarship fund to provide scholarships for disadvantaged emerging leaders to enable them to participate in Leadership Fiji hosted programs and courses.
The scholarship will cover 50% of the cost of the Leadership Fiji course or program, and 50% will be borne by the applicant (or their organisation).
All scholarships will be awarded on an objective and non-discriminatory basis.
Candidates who can qualify for the Leadership Fiji Scholarship Awards will be individuals who:
- Have proven leadership qualities and demonstrated capacity for leadership
- Have a keen interest in giving back to communities in need
- Cannot afford to fully fund their own fees
Family members of LF Board of Directors, Board Members, Management and Staff, Leadership Fiji Alumni executives and staff and employees of all LF Sponsors will not qualify for the scholarship.
Successful scholarship applicants will be required to:
- Commit to 100 hours of volunteer work with Leadership Fiji, completed over the duration of the scholarship
- This can include prefect training, support Leadership Fiji Community Fund activities and events
- Volunteer activities and conditions can be discussed with the CEO
Eligible Candidates
Since the Leadership Fiji program is aimed specifically at assisting emerging leaders to cope with demands of the ever-changing world, it is therefore imperative that eligible candidates for the Leadership Fiji Scholarship Awards are individuals that come from the following areas/sectors:
- Youth, especially those that are being groomed to lead their province and communities in the future
- Management and staff of local civil society organisations and NGO’s whose grants and funding do not support capacity building and development of their staff
Selection
In addition to this Scholarship Application, applicants must also complete and submit the relevant Leadership Fiji Participant Application Form before its closing date.
A Scholarship Awards Committee will be charged with the evaluation of applications that are received for the Leadership Fiji Scholarship Award.
Scholarship applicants will go through Leadership Fiji's final interview and overall selection process, and if successful, the candidate will then be notified and awarded the scholarship.
