Kiwi Hoops Coaching Course: Foundation Level
The Basketball New Zealand Kiwi Hoops Coaching Course is recognised as the equivalent to the FIBA World Association of Basketball Coaches Mini ball coaching programme targeting 5-13 year olds.

The Kiwi Hoops Foundation coaching course is a BBNZ accredited entry level coaching course and aims to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the role of a coach, teaching methods, player skill requirements and team requirements.

The course runs for up to 2 hours long and includes both theory and practical teaching. It specifically covers 'WHAT to coach' and 'HOW to coach' to ensure we are developing the correct skills and behaviours while also creating an experience that is FUN - the #1 reason why kids this age play sport.

There is no assessment however participants will be required to contribute to a discussion and activities. All participants will receive supporting resources.
