This award is to recognize the achievements of a Destination Imagination post secondary school student for volunteerism and participation in creative problem solving in Wisconsin.
Eligibility Criteria: A Wisconsin resident, age 25 or under, currently enrolled in college, university or technical school who has been on a DI team in Wisconsin and/or has been a DI volunteer, for a minimum of two years (you may include the 2018-19 season). You do not currently need to be on a competitive team. A previous recipient of the Elaine House Alumni Award for College Students may not reapply.
Application Deadline: January 31, 2019 before midnight, central time zone.
All submission materials should be filed electronically. If any student cannot submit the application materials electronically, please contact the Chair of the Scholarship Committee at WIDIscholarship@gmail.com or (920) 606-0130 to discuss other arrangements; however, the deadline still applies.
Award recipients will be publicly announced at the Affiliate Tournament at UW Green Bay on April 13, 2019. Recipients will be notified by email and/or telephone of their awards. Awards will be given directly to the winners. Amount and number of the awards may vary, or may not be awarded, depending on the caliber and number of applications.
Selection will be based on demonstrated commitment to WIDI, creative problem solving, creativity and workmanship of the application plus letter of recommendation. Scoring: Volunteerism 50%; Pin Design 25%; Why DI? 25%; Letter of Recommendation (required). All parts of the application must be received by the deadline to be considered for the award. Volunteer activities in Wisconsin will be weighted more heavily than activities in other Affiliates.
