Need design help? We got you covered! Seriously, we have taken everything from pictures to hand drawings, so nothing is impossible! If you have a true vector design (that contains 100% true vector elements) and only needs to be prepared and set up for manufacturing, then choose the $99 option. If you DON'T have a true vector design prepared for manufacturing or want to use concept artwork (e.g. drawing, image or vector) or want start from scratch, choose the $299 full assistance option. If you are not sure, just send us the design before ordering and we will review for any issues no problem!

DESIGN FILE GUIDELINES

In order to fabricate a metal badge from a design file, your design must be a TRUE, 100% VECTOR file made ready for manufacturing. This means not only the format must be vector (.eps, .ai or a vector .pdf), but all of the design elements must be vector elements and not converted rasterized images. If you are not sure, just send the design in question to designsupport@customdrumbadges.com and we will get back to you with any issues and next steps.

The short version to make a manufacture-ready design is this:
1. Provide a vector artwork file that contains 100% true vector elements and NO rasterized objects. ALL typography, objects and shapes must be represented in actual size.
2. For designs with vent holes or screw holes, ensure vector objects are in actual size and size is referenced in a corresponding legend.
3. Outline text or convert text to shapes to retain the font look and avoid font substitutions when the file is opened.
4. If enamel is used, specify standard enamel color or Pantone color code
5. Enameled areas must be recessed and have a raised metal border on both sides to pool properly.
6. Indicate what areas/objects are raised, recessed and/or enameled in a corresponding legend. Be sure to correspond specific colors to specific kinds of elements like in the example below (e.g. recessed areas would correspond to a specific color)
If you have a manufacture-ready design as listed above, then you are good to go!

BADGE MOUNTING

Etched badges attach to the drum using either screws or an air vent. Please be sure to include the screw hole and/or vent placement on your design. Die-Cast can mount via screws, air vents, or reverse mounted spuds. We will determine the best placement for reverse mounted spuds, so their placement is not necessary on your design file.

MANUFACTURE-READY DESIGN EXAMPLE

Below is an example of a properly formatted design file. Notice that every color in the design represents either a raised or a recessed portion of the badge, the necessary hole placement is shown in actual size, and each desired enamel color in the design has its corresponding Pantone color code.

TERMS & CONDITIONS Shipping to continental US is free, however all international orders outside of the US will incur additional shipping costs based on weight and destination. All moulds are kept good for two years from date of manufacture. All reorders received within every two-year period are only subject to the USD $49 set up/retooling fee and the per piece price; essentially making the mould fee a one-time charge if all reorders are received within every two year period.
