Youth Today is now offering a webinar series on engaging youth in the out-of-school time. The topics have been carefully selected based on critical issues in the field and are intentionally designed to connect current research with practice and to bridge the gap between the two arenas. Each webinar in the series is a short 30 minute presentation and includes:
A review of the relevant literature and research on the topic
A response from a practitioner about how the research relates to his/her program
A discussion between the presenters about some of the key issues, challenges, and successes in aligning program practices with research and theory.
Each webinar in the series also has a handout with resources that you can download from a link on the last page of the powerpoint. In addition, you have the option of taking a brief quiz at the end of the webinar which can generate a certificate of completion which can be used to satisfy school age child care requirements if accepted by your state. To do so, the link will appear on the last page of the presentation which will lead you to the test.
This webinar is about how community partnerships can help to improve the quality of offerings during the out of school time. The presenters are Dr. Ken Anthony from the Connecticut Afterschool Network, Nancy Puglisi from the Consolidated School District of New Britain, and Maggie Winiarski from New Britain Parks, Recreation and Community Services.
