    Important Information about this proposal

    You must take care in answering all the following questions which are relevant to insurers in providing this insurance and setting the terms and premium.

    If you do not understand the questions or the nature of the information required please seek guidance from KBIS. Failure to provide information or the provision of incomplete or inaccurate information may result in the loss of cover or revised terms and/or premium or it may affect any claim under this insurance.

    The policy includes conditions, limitations, exclusions and excesses which are fully detailed within the terms and conditions KBIS send to you; you can request a copy of the terms and conditions to review before you complete this process or by clicking here. A copy of any information provided to KBIS can be requested at any time. 

    You should keep a copy of any paperwork KBIS send to you, however, if you misplace anything you can ask for duplicated copies by contacting KBIS. 
     
     
     
    All applications are subject to underwriting and may result in the application of additional terms, premium or exclusions. The insurer is not under any obligation to accept an application.

    Submitting a proposal form does not represent acceptance of any risk by KBIS Ltd or the Insurer, similarly, it will not be considered as an instruction to bind an insurance policy.


    What happens after I have completed this form?

    Once you have submitted your completed form KBIS will provide you with a quotation for the requested cover as soon as possible.

    Please note that a policy will not be started until KBIS confirm that cover is in place.

  • Please note this policy is designed for grooms who are working on a freelance basis. If you are employed then you should be covered under your Employer's Public Liability Insurance policy. Check with your employer first before completing this form.

  • Please note this policy includes cover for exercising horses only. Please let us know if you would like your quotation to include an extension for cover whilst competing.

  • If you have advised that you have employees in the questions above we will include Employers Liability cover in your quote.

    Employers' Liability
    Employers' Liability covers the policyholder for their liability to an employee in the event they are injured, killed or contract an illness. The standard limit of indemnity is £10,000,000 per incident for all claims except for claims relating to terrorism where the limit of indemnity is reduced to £5,000,000. Please consult the terms and conditions for full information including conditions and exclusions.

  • ELTO Notice

    If You have purchased cover under Section A and this Policy provides employers’ liability cover, then certain information relating to it including:

    - the Policy number(s)

    - employer’s names and addresses (including subsidiaries and any relevant changes of name)

    - coverage dates

    - (if relevant) the employer’s reference numbers provided by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs

    will be provided to the Employers’ Liability Tracing Office (the “ELTO”) and added to the Employers’ Liability Database (the “ELD”).

    It is understood by You that the above named information provided to Us will be processed by Us, for the purpose of providing the ELD, in compliance with the provisions of the Employers’ Liability Insurance Disclosure by Insurers Instrument 2010.

    The ELD will be managed by the ELTO. The ELTO may provide such information to third parties to assist individuals with claims arising out of their course of employment in the United Kingdom for employers carrying on, or who carried on, business in the United Kingdom, to find the insurer that was providing employers’ liability cover during their relevant period of employment and also to find the relevant employers’ liability insurance policies.

  • Public Liability

    Public Liability covers the policyholder for their liability to third parties in the event the policyholder causes an injury or property damage. 
      
    Different limits of indemnity are available, please indicate all levels at which you would like a quotation. A higher limit of indemnity will increase your premium.

  • Care, Custody and Control

    Care, Custody and Control covers the policyholder for their liability in the event that a horse(s) in the policyholder's care, custody or control is injured or killed as a direct result of the policyholder's negligence.

    Cover is automatically included on this policy and is set at £10,000 per horse limited to £100,000 in the policy period.

  • PROPOSERS DECLARATION

     

    In deciding to accept this insurance and in setting the terms and premium, we will rely on the information you have given us.  You must take care when answering any questions we ask by ensuring that all information provided is accurate and complete.

     If we establish that you deliberately or recklessly provided us with false or misleading information we will treat the insurance as if it never existed and decline all claims.

     If we establish that you carelessly provided us with incorrect or incomplete information that we have relied upon in accepting the insurance and setting its terms and premium we may;

    • treat the insurance as if it had never existed and refuse to pay all claims and return the premium paid.  We will only do this if we provided you with insurance cover which we would not otherwise have offered;
    • amend the terms of your insurance.  We may apply these amended terms as if they were already in place if a claim has been adversely impacted by your carelessness;
    • charge you more premium for your insurance or reduce the amount we pay on a claim in the proportion the premium you have paid bears to the premium we would have charged you; or             
    • cancel your insurance.

    If you are in any doubt at all regarding any of the answers you have given, you should ask your broker or contact KBIS Ltd.

    You must tell us, within 14 days of you becoming aware, if any of the information provided by you changes after you purchase your policy and during the period of your policy.

  • It is a condition of this policy that you agree to the terms specified above. If you do not agree with these terms KBIS and their Insurer's cannot provide any insurance cover.
