The Board of Directors of USTA Atlanta is comprised of a President, Executive Vice President, three Vice Presidents, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and three Directors. Additionally, the President may appoint up to three (3) non-voting members of the Board. Past Presidents also serve on the Board of Directors. All members of the Board (other than Past Presidents) serve a term that is two (2) years.
The Executive Committee is comprised of the President, Executive Vice-President, three Vice-Presidents, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and such additional officers as may from time to time be needed. Board members in a position that is part of the Executive Committee may meet more often than the full Board of Directors.
President
The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors. The President presides at all meetings of members, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and any such management committee as may be appointed to direct the organization. The President, with the advice and consent of the Executive Committee, appoints all committee Chairs and committee members whose appointments are not otherwise provided for. The President shall not serve for more than two (2) consecutive terms.
Vice-Presidents
The Executive Vice-President shall assist the President in the performance of the President’s duties and shall exercise all powers of the President in the President’s absence or in the case of the President’s resignation, incapacity, or death. The other three Vice-Presidents shall serve separately and individually as the Chair of the Adult League Committee, the Chair of the Junior League Committee, and the liaison with the Atlanta Youth Tennis and Education Foundation (AYTEF). Each Vice-President shall perform such additional duties as assigned by the President.
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for keeping accurate membership records, certifying the voting power of the Board prior to any vote (confirming the presence of a quorum), giving notice of meetings, and keeping minutes of the meetings.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall be responsible for the financial management and controls of the organization. Working with the Executive Director, the Treasurer shall prepare an annual proposed budget for the forthcoming calendar year for submission to the Board of Directors.
Directors
Directors are approved by the executive Committee and shall serve as members of the Board of Directors.
