GEAR: Each scout must be in full Class A uniform and wearing his boots for the car trip to and from the campout. Cold weather clothing and gear are required for this campout. The weather could be wet and rainy, or snowy and very cold, so be prepared. Layers are important. Bring extra clothes and socks. Cotton is bad; synthetics and wool are preferred. Waterproof boots or snow boots are recommended. We are sleeping in tents, so your sleeping bag should be rated at 20º Fahrenheit or lower. Adding a fleece blanket inside your sleeping bag is a good idea. If you do not have a cold weather sleeping bag, ask about using a spare one at a Troop meeting.
A cold weather camping guide is here: http://trooponeakron.org/forms/Cold_Weather_Travel_and_Camping.pdf.
Patrol gear is different for this campout; see the ”Unit Leaders and SPL Guidebook”, found here:
Go bags are a standard requirement for every campout http://trooponeakron.org/gobag.htm
