      You are responsible for signing up course attendees, ensuring that attendees are from fully affiliated clubs, will collect the money for the courses. It is also necessary to have someone at the course at all times in case of emergencies. When all the information on this form is completed, send it to the N.I.S.L office and you will then receive a confirmation of the course.

      The following outlines the requirements and recommendations of the hosting organization’s responsibilities for the course.

       

      The host will be required to do the following:

      • Collaborate with the lead instructor to produce a course schedule.
      • Coordinate with site administration to confirm the facility schedule.
      • Confirm cooperation/support from on-site administration.
      • Reconcile all expenses with on-site organization/facility.
      • Ensure the classroom facility has the following:
      1. Seats for each candidate with individual writing space.
         
      2. Projection surface.
         
      3. Restroom access.
         
      4. Digital projector linked to classroom-dedicated computer or instructor’s laptop.
         
      5. White board / flip chart with markers.

       

      Ensure the field has the following

      • Sufficient for the Grassroots course being taught.
      • Lined and mowed to standard markings.
      • Restroom access.
      • Access to water for players & candidates.
      • Appropriate field equipment.
      • Portable goals with nets.
      • 3-4 dozen cones.
      • Different colored vests.
      • Vertical poles.
      • Properly inflated balls.
      • Medical kit/emergency first aid, including ice/ ice packs for treatment.
      • Any other field equipment that the instructors find necessary.

       Coordinate with US Club Soccer the Proof of insurance for event and participants (including instructors).

      Age appropriate field space must be available

      4v4 - 25-35 yards (length) -15-25 yards (width), Goals should be no larger than 4 feet (height) x 6 feet (width)
      7v7 - 55-65 yards (length) - 35-45 yards (width) - Goals should be no larger than 6.5 feet (height) x 18.5 feet (width)
      All US Soccer 9v9 and 11v11 will require a full size field, indoors or outdoors.  The course cannot be held in a school gymnasium.
       Age appropriate players must be provided by the host club

      4v4 (6 to 8 players)
      7v7 (10 to 14 players)
      9v9 (14 to 18 players)
      11v11 (14 to 18 players)
      Max 12:1 Minimum 10:1 ratio for the candidates: Instructor.

      The four-hour Grassroots IP courses can be structured in the following ways:

      1-2-1 – Classroom (1 hour), field (2 hours), classroom (1 hour) -highly preferred.
      Based on intended learning outcomes 2-2 – Field (2 hours), classroom (2 hours) OR Classroom (2 hours), field (2 hours).
      Option for facility challenges, adapted instructor guide required.
      First / final 30 minutes on the field dedicated to lesson plan overview / reflection.
      Courses may only be held on one day or over two consecutive days.
      NISL/US Club courses hosted U.S. Soccer courses will be set up and administered through U.S. Soccer’s Digital Coaching Center (DCC).

      • Each candidate will need one-half of a field for each session (for testing).
         
      • For a ratio of 36 candidates: 3 instructors, course will need at least two full fields.
      • Preferred to have 3 full fields (one per instructor).
      • Lined and mowed to standard markings.
      • Restroom access.
      • Access to water for players & candidates.
      • Appropriate field equipment.
      • Portable goals with nets.
      • 3-4 dozen cones.
      • Different colored vests.
      • Vertical poles.
      • Properly inflated balls.
