* Beef Deposit Policy:
Your paid deposit and submitted order form guarantees we will save a beef for you. Deposits will be refunded under the following circumstances:
- An act of nature, illness or accident causes your beef to be unavailable to harvest or the quality is deemed not fit for harvest by Chaffin Family Orchards.
- Market prices change in such as way that Chaffin Family Orchards must change the price for your beef. You will be offered a refund in this case.
Deposits may not be refunded if you change your mind or decide not to take delivery of a beef. In the case that you change your mind or are unable to take delivery Chaffin Orchards will refund your deposit if we are able to find someone else to purchase the animal or half animal that has been reserved for you. If finding a replacement buyer means we incur storage or other fees these fees will be deducted from your refund.
Delivery of your beef will take place in late spring or early summer. We will be able to give you the date approximately 2 weeks ahead of time, once we receive that information from our harvester. Please make sure we have accurate, current email and other contact information so we can advise you of coming delivery dates in a timely manner. Beef pickup normally takes place on a weekday, midday or mid-morning hours.
We do not offer delivery outside of Chico. Please plan to meet us in Chico or to come to the farm on delivery day. If you are unable to pick up your beef on the pickup day and time, and Chaffin Orchards incurs travel or storage fees as a result, those fees will be charged to you the buyer and must be paid in order to take receipt of your beef. Due to policies of our storage facility and travel distances the minimum charge for storage is $100.
