The following is a prospectus for the upcoming group show "It was…” presented in partnership by AYDesign– Art on Vine® gallery, located at 4722 Vine Street, St. Bernard OH 45217. August 17th, 2018 – September 14th, 2018.
Works submitted for "It was…” should be inspired by should be inspired by and tell a story that begins with the classic writing prompt “It was…” The possibilities are endless it is up to the artist to use their imagination as to how their visual story unfolds.
All entries must be completed online by Midnight July 10th, 2018. Artists must reside within a 100 mile radius of zip code: 45217
Work must reflect the theme of the show "It was…” All entries must be submitted online by Midnight July 10th, 2018. Mailed in entries will not be accepted.
A maximum of six works per artist entry, limit one entry per artist.
NO FEE, limit one entry (of 6 submitted works) per artist.
DIGITAL IMAGES ONLY
One image per entry. Images should be in JPEG format, 300 dpi, maximum file size 1024kb (1MB). All files should be labeled with applicant’s first initial and last name followed by image entry number.
“It was…” is a juried group exhibit. Not all entries or works will be accepted. Artists will be notified on or before July 12th, 2018, if they have been accepted into the exhibit and which works will be permitted into the installation.
All artwork must be installation ready. AYDesign reserves the right to reject any artwork due to inadequate preparation for installation or for security or public safety concerns. Work that differs from the images submitted will not be accepted. After installation, artwork may be removed and taken home by the buyer if it has sold during the exhibit (August 17th, 2018 – September 14th, 2018) and through the pickup date of September 18th, 2018.
DELIVERY/PICKUP OF ARTWORK
Accepted artwork must be received by AYDesign by August 14th, 2018 (anytime between 4:30-8pm)* and is to be picked up on September 18th, 2018 (anytime between 1:30– 4:00pm)*. It is the artists responsibility to hand delivery and pickup of artwork to AYDesign, located at 4722 Vine Street, Cincinnati OH 45217. Works will be insured for 50% of the stated value while in the possession of AYDesign. Artists are to bring necessary items to protect their works for their return delivery, and to assist in removing them from the installation.
* Due to the gallery exhibit schedule, and limited storage space, it is imperative that artwork is delivered and picked up on the dates/times indicated so that exhibits are installed on time. Failure to do so may disqualify artists from participating in future exhibits.
DELIVERY OF WORKS SOLD
AYDesign will not deliver any works sold. Artwork may be removed and taken home by the buyer if it has sold during the duration of the exhibit and through the pickup date of September 18th, 2018. It is the artist’s responsibility to make arrangements and deliver any of their artwork that has been purchased and not picked up by the buyer by September 18th, 2018.
AYDesign will not charge a commission on any sold artwork, we do however request that the participating artist help where they can (Please see "Artists Participation" section). Artwork not for sale must be marked NFS (not for sale) but have a stated value for insurance purposes.
Artists are responsible for completing their own sales transactions. AYDesign will ONLY accept cash or checks made out to the artist if a work is sold and the artist is not present at the time of the transaction. Artist will be notified when they are not present when a piece is sold and will be given the option to either pick up the payment at a mutually agreeable time, or it can be mailed to them.
Artists are strongly encouraged to use a mobile payment processing system such as Square, PayPal Here, and Etsy Direct Checkout when present during the Opening Reception events should they wish to be able to accept credit cards during those events.
RIGHT TO REPRODUCE
AYDesign reserves the right to photograph exhibited work and use either these photographs or the artist slides for reproduction in both printed and electronic materials for publicity.
