Software Engineering Intern
Start Date: Summer 2018
Location: San Francisco, CA
We are looking for a few enthusiastic college engineers to join our team for the spring or summer terms. The position will work alongside a senior engineer to build out features for one of our three main technology stacks: mobile applications and receipt processing, data engineering and attribution, and our home grown business intelligence software called Insights. InfoScout currently receives over 400k receipt images per day from 2 successful mobile apps, running them through a process that includes computer vision, OCR, machine learning, crowd sourcing, web scraping, ETL and our own super flexible BI to power the largest purchase panel in the US. This is an opportunity to jump in and get exposed to all of those technologies while making a meaningful impact on our software and company.
Ideal candidates for this position will have:
Experience with server-side development, especially in Python
Understanding of general web architecture
Experience developing, releasing, and supporting backend code
Fully comfortable with version control systems
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Exceptional candidates will have:
High proficiency in Python
Familiarity with any of the technologies we use every day including: Django, RabbitMQ, MySQL, Vertica, OpenCV, OCR, TesnorFlow, React, and Redux.
Deployed environments in Amazon Web Services
Experience working on a high traffic web or mobile applications
