This award recognizes Baptist women who are currently demonstrating the ability to foster leadership in women and who display the potential to be leaders in the community and the world. The award will carry a grant to help the recipient continue her development and ministry to others.

The committee will evaluate nominees based on such criteria as:
- Personal integrity
- Years of service, voluntary and professional
- Involvement in missions, ministry, global vision
- Selflessness
- Ability to influence women to become leaders
- Courage
- Participation in WMU and/or its ministries
- Mentor, rather than role model
- Ordinary women doing extraordinary things
*Note: National WMU employees cannot be considered for nomination.
