  • Criteria

    • Credit may be awarded for significant life and ministry experience substantially demonstrated to have attained the outcomes equivalent to specific RMC courses;
    • This type of credit is considered primarily for degree majors;
    • A minimum of 9 credit hours in the major field must be taken at RMC;
    • Outcomes include granting full credit, identifying and requiring additional work, or not granting any credit;
    • Potential PLAR opportunities include: seminars, workshops, non-credit (continuing) education, professional or volunteer ministry experience, crosscultural ministry including short term missions, and work experience;
    • Evaluation is conducted by the VP Academic, or designate, in conjunction with qualified personnel as appropriate.
  • Process

    1. Student consult with program advisor;
    2. Complete the PLAR application;
    3. Pay the non-refundable PLAR fee (required before the application will be evaluated);
    4. Prepare a portfolio under the guidelines provided
    5. Submit the portfolio within 12 months to the VP Academic or designate using the Learning Management System (LMS);
    6. Additional prescribed work must also be completed within 12 months of application;
    7. The decision of assessment may be appealed to the Academic Committee.
