• Prior Learning Assessment (PLAR) Request Form

  • Criteria

    • Credit may be awarded for significant life and ministry experience substantially demonstrated to have attained the outcomes equivalent to specific RMC courses;
    • This type of credit is considered primarily for degree majors;
    • A minimum of 9 credit hours in the major field must be taken at RMC;
    • Outcomes include granting full credit, identifying and requiring additional work or not granting any credit;
    • Potential PLAR opportunities include: seminars, workshops, non-credit (continuing) education, professional or volunteer ministry experience, crosscultural ministry including short term missions, and work experience;
    • Evaluation is conducted by the VP Academic in conjunction with qualified personnel as appropriate.
  • Process

    1. Student consult with program advisor;
    2. Complete the PLAR application;
    3. Pay the non-refundable PLAR fee (required before the application will be evaluated);
    4. Prepare a portfolio under the guidelines given by the VP Academic                
    5. Submit the portfolio to the Registrar's Office and assest by an evaluator;
    6. The decision on the outcomes of the assessment may be appealed to the Academic Committee.
